من عمل صالح لا يعلم بها زوجه ولا غيرها،
ولقد كانوا يراقبون الله في ظُلَم الليل"
علل الحديث لأبي حفص الفلاس (١٩٦)
‘Abdullāh bin Dāwūd rahimahullāh said:
“They (the salaf) preferred that a man has a portion of righteous actions which are hidden that neither his wife nor anyone else knows about. And they were conscious that Allāh was ever-watchful over them in the darkness of the night.”

قال ابن قدامة رحمه الله :
ويُكره أن يؤخر ختمة القرآن
أكثر من أربعين يوما.

قال القرطبي:
والأربعين مدة الضعفاء وأولي الأشغال
Ibn Qudāmah rahimahullāh said: “It is disliked to delay the completion of the Qurān more than 40 days”. (Al-Mughnī, 1/459)
Al-Qurtubī rahimahullāh said: “And 40 (days) is the duration of the weak and those who are occupied”.
قال ابن قدامة رحمه الله :
