"Ibn Qutayabh (276h) rahimahullāh said: "A student of knowledge in times gone by would listen (to knowledge) to learn, would learn to act (upon the knowledge) and to benefit and be of benefit. It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbās (may Allāh be pleased with him and his father) that he said: "Indeed I love that I beautify myself for my wife as I love for her to beautify herself for me, this is because Allāh said: "And due to the wives is similar to what is expected of them, according to what is reasonable". (2:28) (Reported by Ibn Jarīr and Ibn Abī Hātim). (Taken from Tafsīr Ibn Kathīr).
