Imām as-Sa'di rahimahullāh said:
“From Allah’s favor upon the believers is that He does not decree for them any good or any calamity except that it is good for them. If good afflicts them and they are grateful, He rewards them with the reward of those who are grateful; and if a calamity befalls them and they are patient, He rewards them with the reward of those who are patient.”
[Tafsīr al-Sa’di 160]

Sheikh Ibn al-Uthaymeen rahimahu’Allah said :
“Umar ibn al-Khatab was the Commander of the Believers and the second of the caliphs of the Muslims. Al-Farooq was among the noblest of Quraysh.
He accepted Islam in the fifth or sixth year after the sending of the Prophet ﷺ, and his acceptance of Islam was an honor for the Muslims.
He witnessed all of the battles, and he assumed the caliphate after AbuBakr as-Siddiq, based upon his appointment of him. He fulfilled the task of the caliphate in the best manner after him.
At the end of Dhul-Hijjah, with four nights remaining of it, a Majus stabbed him while the Commander of the Believers had proclaimed the takbīr for the Fajr prayer.
He was then carried to his home, and he died three nights later, in the year 23 AH.
He was buried alongside the Prophet ﷺ and Abu Bakr, may Allah be pleased with him, in the house of Aishah, may Allah be pleased with her.
His caliphate lasted ten years, six months, and several days.
May Allah be pleased with him.”

Sheikh Yahya al-Hajooree hafidahu’Allah said:

Imam Muqbil ibn Hadee al-Wadee rahimahu’Allah said:
“Spend your time in that which benefits Islam and the Muslims.”
And he rahimahu’Allah said:
“If you were to learn to teach the people of your land, it would be better for you than to weigh out gold for them by the basket.”

Sheikh Ibn al-Uthaymeen rahimahu’Allah said :
“The Fajr prayer is like the key to the prayers of the day, rather, to all of the deeds of the day. It is like a covenant between Allah and the servant that the servant will carry out obedience to his Lord, Allah the Mighty and Majestic, complying with His command and refraining from His prohibition.”

Al-Khatib al-Baghdadi rahimahu’Allah said:
“Knowledge is intended for action, just as action is intended for salvation. So when one’s actions are deficient, knowledge becomes a burden upon the person of knowledge.”

Yahya ibn Muadh rahimahu’Allah a said:
“Two calamities the earlier and later generations have never heard of anything like them concerning a person’s wealth at the time of his death.
It was said to him: What are they?
He said: All of it is taken away from him, and he is questioned about all of it.”

Sheikh Muqbil ibn Hadee al-Wadee rahimahu’allāh said:
“Some of our brothers for Allah’s sake are naive. They do not know the situation or the enemies of the da’wah.
They think that the matter is simply from the mosque to the library to the valley to performing ablution. While you are here the communists the Ba’thists the followers of the communists and Ba’thists and likewise the Nasserists are planning against you. So be intelligent and understanding.
The Messenger ﷺ said:
‘A believer is not stung from the same hole twice.’
And Allah is the One whose help is sought.
