“Good character with Allah regarding His decrees is that you are pleased with what Allah has decreed for you, that you become tranquil regarding it, and that you know that whatever He—Glorified and Exalted is He—has decreed, He has only decreed for a wisdom and a praiseworthy purpose, for which He deserves praise and thanks.”

How is sincerity in seeking knowledge achieved?

Imām Muhammad Ibn Salih al-Uthaymeen (rahimahu’Allah) said:

(1) That he intends by it to carry out the command of Allah, since Allah commanded it, saying:

"So know (O Muhammad ﷺ) that Lâ ilâha illallâh (none has the right to be worshipped but Allah)." (Qur'an 47:19)

(2) That he intends by it to remove ignorance from himself and from others.

(3) That he intends by it to follow the legislation (Sharia) of the Prophet ﷺ.

(4) That he intends by it to protect the legislation (Sharia) and defend it.
