Sheikh al-Allāmah Muqbil ibn Hadi al-Wadee rahimahu’Allah was asked:

“What is the condition of one who says: ‘Questioning a scholar for evidence is bad manners’?”

He replied:

“This statement is bad manners; because Allah, Glorified and Exalted, says:

اتَّبِعُوا مَا أُنْزِلَ إِلَيْكُمْ مِنْ رَبِّكُمْ وَلَا تَتَّبِعُوا مِنْ دُونِهِ أَوْلِيَاءَ ۗ قَلِيلًا مَا تَذَكَّرُونَ

‘Follow what has been sent down unto you from your Lord (the Qur’an and Prophet Muhammad’s Sunnah), and follow not any allies besides Him. Little do you remember!’

‘And whatsoever the Messenger (Muhammad) gives you, take it; and whatsoever he forbids you, abstain (from it). And fear Allah; verily, Allah is Severe in punishment.’

‘Say (O Muhammad to these polytheists): Bring your proof if you are truthful.’

And Alawi al-Mālikī, when a questioner would come to him asking a question, and he would give him a fatwa, and then the questioner asked him for evidence, he would say to him: ‘Stand up — you are a fifth (school).’

Meaning: your school of thought is a fifth school. And he would rebuke him very harshly. So this statement is incorrect.

And praise be to Allah—thank Allah, O Ahlus Sunnah: that you now demand evidence, and you give fatwas to people with evidence. This is a blessing, and this is the religion.

This is the religion, O brothers.”

‎Imām Ibn al-Uthaymeen (rahimahullāh) said:

‎Meaning of “As-Samad” in Allah’s statement: {اللَّهُ الصَّمَدُ}

‎“As-Samad: He is the One who is complete (perfect) in His attributes, the One to whom all of His creation are in need and turn.”

‎(Sharh al-‘Aqeedah al-Wasitiyyah, p. 118)

‎“And say: My Lord, increase me in knowledge.”[Surah Ṭā Hā 20:114]

‎Sufyān ibn Uyaynah (رحمه الله) said:

‎“The Prophet (ﷺ) did not cease increasing in knowledge until Allah took him (in death).”

Al-Imam Abdul Aziz ibn Baz rahimahullah said:

“The origin of Adam alayhi as-salām is the very origin that he is upon now, and his origin was neither a monkey nor anything else. Rather, he is a sound, complete human being upon the creation which is seen.”

al-Hāfidh ibn Hajr rahimahullāh said:

‘A person, if he sees his companion distressed, it is recommended for him to speak to him with that which removes his worry and makes his soul feel good;

due to the statement of Umar ibn al-Khattab, may Allah be pleased with him:

“I will surely say something that makes the Prophet ﷺ laugh.”’

[Fatḥ al-Bārī 9/363]
‎Imām Muhammad Ibn Salih al-Uthaymeen (rahimahu’Allah) said:

‎“Abu Hurairah is Abd al-Raḥmān ibn Ṣakhr al-Dawsī. He accepted Islam in the year of Khaybar, and witnessed it, and he kept close company with the Prophet ﷺ and gave care to his hadith. The Prophet ﷺ testified for him regarding his eagerness for hadith.

‎And Abdullah ibn Umar said to him:

‎‘You were the one among us who stayed closest to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and the most knowledgeable among us concerning his hadith.’

‎And something similar was narrated from Umar ibn al-Khattab.

‎And al-Bukhari (rahimahullāh) said:

‎‘Abu Hurairah was the strongest in memorization among those who narrated hadith in his era.’

‎The scholars mentioned that he narrated from the Prophet ﷺ (5,374) hadiths.

‎He died in the year fifty seven in Madinah, may Allah be pleased with him.”

Al-Hāfidh Ibn Rajab al-Hanbali (rahimahullāh) said:

“As for the voluntary acts of worship during the ten days of Dhul-Hijjah, they are more virtuous than those performed during the last ten nights of Ramadan.

Similarly, the obligatory deeds in Dhul-Hijjah are multiplied more than those performed at other times.”
