‎Valuing One’s Opinion Over Scholars: The Way of Innovators.

‎Fudayl Ibn Iyāḍ (raḥimahullāh) said:

‎“If the innovator humbled himself before the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of His Prophet ﷺ, he would have followed and would not have innovated; but rather, he became impressed with his opinion, so he followed that which he invented.”

قال الفضيل رحمه الله تعالى :
.
لو أن المبتدع تواضع لكتاب الله و سنة نبيه لاتبع و ما ابتدع ،

و لكنه أُعجب برأيه فاقتدى بما اخترع .

‎In Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī, from the hadith of Iyāḍ ibn Ḥimār (may Allah be pleased with him), that the Prophet ﷺ said:

‎“Indeed, Allah has revealed to me that you should be humble, and that none of you should transgress against another.”

‎Sheikh Ali al-Hajaji hafidahu’Allah, from the students of Imam al-Wadee rahimahu’Allah, in Sanaa, Yemen, said:

‎“So the believer humbles himself to his believing brother and to his righteous brother, and he smiles in his face and takes his hand. And whoever humbles himself is elevated, and whoever is arrogant becomes humiliated and lowered.”

Description of Those Whose Hearts Are Attached to the Masjid.

Al-Hāfidh Ibn Rajab al-Hanbali, rahimahullāh, said:

“He loves the Masjid and becomes accustomed to worshipping Allah in it. When he leaves it, his heart remains attached to it until he returns.

This only occurs for one who has control over his soul and led it to the obedience of Allah, so it submits to him.

For desire calls only to the love of places of desire, lawful or unlawful amusement, and places of trade and the acquisition of wealth.

Therefore , no one confines his soul to loving the places of worship except one who opposes his desire and gives precedence over it to the love of his Master.”

Imām Ibn al-Uthaymeen (rahimahullāh) said:

“Some students of knowledge today are harsher than the Bedouins. He has neither cheerfulness, nor greeting, nor humility.

Rather, some people, when they increase in knowledge, increase in arrogance, and we seek refuge with Allah.

The true scholar is the one who, when he increases in knowledge, increases in humility.”

How many Umrahs did the Prophet ﷺ perform, and when were they?

Al-'Allāmah Zayd al-Madkhalī (rahimahu’Allah) said:

“Indeed, the total number of Umrahs that the Prophet ﷺ performed in his lifetime was four, all of them in the month of Dhū al-Qaʿdah.

1. The Umrah of al-Ḥudaybiyyah in the sixth year after the Hijrah, when the polytheists barred him from the Haram.

2. The second in the seventh year.

3. The Umrah of al-Jiʿranah, when he distributed the spoils of Ḥunayn in the eighth year.

4. His Umrah along with his Ḥajj in the tenth year.

And in that is the invalidation of what the people of the pre-Islamic period (Jāhiliyyah) used to adhere to in prohibiting the performaning Umrah during the months of Ḥajj.

And it was mentioned previously, the ḥadith of Qatādah, that Anas informed him: { that the Prophet ﷺ performed four Umrahs, all of them in Dhū al-Qaʿdah }. The ḥadith”(collected by al-Bukhari and Muslim).

If a person wipes over the socks (during wudū), then removes them, does his state of purity become nullified?

Imām Ibn al-Uthaymeen (rahimahullāh) said:

“If he wipes over the sock, then removes it, his purity is not nullified; rather, it remains until he nullifies it.

And if proof is demanded from us, we say: the proof is upon the one who says that it is nullified, because this is a purity established by the legislation, so it is not nullified except by a proof from the legislation.

And there is nothing in the Book nor in the Sunnah that indicates that removing the sock after wiping over it nullifies purity.

So he remains upon his purity until he nullifies it, then he performs wudū’.”

“And Allah will never lead a people astray after He has guided them until He makes clear to them as to what they should avoid. Indeed Allah is All-Knower of everything.” [9:115]

Al-Qurtubi rahimahu’Allah said in his tafsir:

“In this is the clearest evidence that sins, when they are committed and transgress their barrier, become a cause leading to misguidance and ruin, and a ladder to abandoning soundness and right guidance. We ask Allah for correctness, success, and soundness by His favor.”
