Tonight’s lesson (Chapter of fasting from ‘Umdatul Ahkām) is cancelled.

We will resume tomorrow as normal in shā Allāh.

قال ابن عطاء رحمه الله:

"لا يسمع سورة يوسف محزون إلا استروح إليها".

Ibn ‘Atā rahimahullāh said: “No one listens to Sūrah Yūsuf (with reflection) while they are in a state of sadness except he will find comfort by way of it”. (Tafsīr Al-Baghawī, (2/434).

عن عبد اللَّه ابن شداد قال: سمعت نشيج عمر وأنا في آخر الصفوف في صلاة الصبح وهو يقرأ: ﴿إِنَّمَا أَشْكُو بَثِّي وَحُزْنِي إِلَى اللَّهِ﴾ [يوسف: ٨٦].

‘Abdullāh bin Shaddād said: “I heard 'Umar ibn Al-Khattāb’s sobbing in the Fajr prayer from the back rows whilst he recited from Sūrah Yūsuf: “I only complain of my suffering and my grief to Allāh.” (12:86)
