﷽
Friday 27/11/44 - 16/06/23
Reminder:
With Dhul Hijjah starting either on Monday or Tuesday (depending on the sighting of the crescent), we would like to remind those who intend to do the udhiyah (offering sacrifice)to carry out the sunan of the fitrah before the month enters. This is because they will not be able to do so once the month enters until the day of Eid Al-Adhā once the udhiyah has been offered.
The sunan of the fitrah being referenced here are:
1: Clipping nails
2: Removing hairs from the body (armpit hairs, pubic hairs and moustache)
In addition to this, getting a haircut. This is due to the hadīth of Umm Salamah, the mother of the believers (may Allāh be pleased with her) that the messenger of Allāh ﷺ said:
“When any one of you intending to sacrifice the animal enters in the month (of Dhu'l-Hijja) he should not get his hair or nails touched (cut)”. (Muslim, 1977)
And in a another narration reported by Muslim with a slightly different wording:
May Allāh allow us to reach these blessed days, the best days in the dunyā and may He make us from those who He frees from the fire during that period.
