In GUI's practice of the Gratitude Circle, we will have one hand facing up and the other facing down to symbolize giving and taking. It is important to have a balance.

GUI has been very blessed over the years. On this National Day weekend, thanks to the generosity from the Teo family, GUI worked with Chong Pang Community Centre and 3Pumpkins to reach out to families to connect them with the community and sustainable-living in our nature-inspired space.

We are very grateful for this opportunity and will continue to do more!

TouchWood forms put of the Making Space of GUI. In this space, we hope to encourage more people to be more hands-on and through this process reduce the waste around us through the act of repair.

One of our craftsmen at TouchWood is Max. We are grateful to him. Max is very hands-on and loves to tinker. He does not shy away from hard work and loves being with the community. He is also constantly thinking of ways to improve the workshop experience at TouchWood.

Did you know? The very concept of the Kampung Kampus was conceived on the benches of our backyard space.

These benches have served the community for over 10 years and have definitely seen better days! Through the power of the community, led by our craft arm, TouchWood GUI, we turned waste wood into new benches for the community to enjoy.

We got to know Sipei during the COVID19 period. She is such a gem. After volunteering on our farm for a period, Sipei started a nature-walking group at our nature-inspired space.

Sipei initiated these walks and conducted several of them over the year. She connected people with one another and nature. During the COVID19 period, this was such an important breather for many.

We had a very successful collaboration with Simei-Changi CCC, SAA (SJ Group), SUTD & CGH at Jalan Pelatok Park in July! By involving everyone in the built process, we helped built ownership and camaraderie amongst seemingly different communities.

We are proud to share that along with SAA (SJ Group) and SUTD, we will be taking part in this year's Archifest (again!). The theme of this year's ArchiFest is The Order of Love. Like Pelatok Park, together with SAA (SJ Group) & SUTD, participants will be led in building up and planting one of the pavilions.
