Today is Earth Day (22 April). Itโs also our 14th birthday!
Last Saturday, we celebrated our birthday in advance by inviting a group of elderly to our kampung to join us in our give-back celebration. We could tell that the elderly were truly happy through their smiles and words of appreciation.
This would not have been possible without Mr Chua Wah Ann and his dedicated team of Project Starfish volunteers. Their generosity makes us rich with love that we want to spread and reach out to more communities in need.
GUI is eternally grateful to the heartfelt support and gracious help from so many people whom we have connected with. May this be a reminder for us to continue to show care for one another as we celebrate another trip made around the sun.

July was a month to Connect!
In the early years of GUI, our late founder, Mr Tay Lai Hock, shared that we were but one tree, and that for us to succeed in even making a dent in the climate crisis, we will need many trees, thus forming a large forest.

Finally, after 3 years, GUI's full & part-time team can come together to celebrate one another and of course our nation's 57th birthday! As we sang songs like Home and ๅฐไบบ็ฉ็ๅฟๅฃฐ and look out into the beautiful sea and Singapore's beautiful skyline from Lazarus island, we are reminded of how far Singapore has come and how lucky we are.
May GUI have the courage and conviction of Singapore's founding generation, as we forge a path into an even brighter future.
