We were so grateful to welcome the donors of our #1000GUIConnections fundraiser to GUI. ๐ŸŒฑ

This beautiful initiative was founded by our dear friend of GUI, Hui Ying โ€” bringing together 1,000 connections in support of GUI. As a token of appreciation (and to wish everyone a bountiful CNY ahead ๐Ÿงง), Mei invited our donors to join us for a harvesting session at our farm. Together, we harvested fresh lettuce, cai xin, xiao bai cai, bayam and more, followed by an insightful tour of our new site. ๐Ÿฅฌ

More than the harvest, we cherished the precious conversations.๐Ÿ’šOne donor shared how he first came back to plant grass, heard about the fundraiser, and felt inspired seeing so many people doing good together. Moments like these remind us that community is what truly helps us grow. ๐Ÿ’š

Thank you so much Hui Ying for your vision, and thank you to every donor who continues to nurture this journey with us.๐Ÿ’š

Dear GUI Community ๐ŸŒฑ

Join us this March School Holidays (13โ€“29 March 2026, 11amโ€“8pm) at five participating heartland malls for Living Green, Living Together @ Woodlands, in partnership with ShopperLink.

Come learn how everyday wasteโ€”textile, plastic, glass, food, wood and paperโ€”can be transformed into something useful through fun hands-on eco activities like wooden bag tag making, glass crushing, plastic shredding, composting and herb potting. Take part in the stamp card rally by visiting activity booths across the malls. Complete your stamp card and redeem rewards like supermarket vouchers, Creative Wood Hanger workshops and Joy of Harvesting programmes. We warmly invite everyone in the GUI community to come by, learn together, and make sustainable living a way of life. โ™ป๏ธ๐Ÿ’š

Last Saturday, we were grateful to share about GUI at the Community Roundtable on Building Social Capital Through Place and Philanthropy, organised by Temasek Foundation at Temasek Shophouse. It was a meaningful chance to listen, learn, and connect with others strengthening social capital in Singapore.

The roundtable brought together voices from the public, private, philanthropy, and people sectors. Through the conversations, it became clear that many are grappling with the same question: how do we cultivate meaningful places in an increasingly urbanised country?

One question to GUI stood out โ€” how do you transplant the โ€œsoulโ€ of a community when the physical ground is taken away?

A lovable place is not just about land or buildings but her people showing up, working side by side, creating memories, and shaping the stories that bind a community together.

We were grateful to be invited to Seletar Mall last weekend to be part of their Kids Adventure Club March Workshops. Designed for children aged 3 to 13, the Kids Adventure Club brings families together through a series of fun and engaging missions that spark curiosity and creativity.๐Ÿ’š

GUI was delighted to host two sustainability-themed workshops: the Mud Buddy Workshop and the Woody Hero Workshop. At Mud Buddy, kids and their families created unique pieces using natural clay harvested from our new Kampung Kampus, while at Woody Hero, they built imaginative little robots using reclaimed pallet wood.๐Ÿ™Œ

It was truly heartwarming to see families learning, creating, and connecting together. Thank you once again to Seletar Mall for having us and for creating such a wonderful space for kids and families to explore and make memories.๐Ÿ’š
