Durov was released from police custody.

An investigating judge has ended the Telegram founder's detention in police custody for the purpose of his initial interrogation and possible indictment. His trial is about to begin, hopefully all will go well....

Pavel Durov has been placed under judicial supervision, banned from leaving French territory and required to post bail in the amount of 5 million euros.

This was announced by the Paris prosecutor's office.

The latest development in Pavel Durov's case seems to be quite interesting.

Investment Kinguru speculates that these allegations against Durov may serve as a pretext for further  dismantling privacy on TG. Based on the recent actions (we can no longer see the number of users in TG apps and bots), we can assume that the team is trying to present the following picture: Telegram has much less than 45mil active monthly users,that is why the messenger can not be subject to EU regulations.
However the fact that Telegram team had been ignoring subpoenas doesn't do them any services.

But by the looks of it, Pavel means to stand his ground.
