📍 Overview

✅ On 2nd August 2025, PM Modi will release the 20th instalment of PM-KISAN from Varanasi

✅ ₹20,500 crore to be disbursed to 9.7 crore farmers via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT)
✅ Total disbursal since 2019: ₹3.69 lakh crore over 19 instalments

📍 Scheme Features

✅ Central Sector Scheme launched in 2019
✅ Provides ₹6,000 per year in 3 equal instalments to eligible land-holding farmers
✅ Funds credited directly to Aadhaar-seeded bank accounts

📍 Eligibility & Reach
✅ Over 85% of Indian farmers have <2 hectares of land — PM-KISAN acts as a safety net
✅ Digital systems (Aadhaar, Jan Dhan, mobile) ensure transparency
✅ State governments play a critical role in verification and outreach

📍 Recent Expansions
✅ 1 crore new farmers added under Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra (Nov 2023)
✅ 25 lakh more included in first 100 days of new government (June 2024)
✅ 18th Instalment: 9.59 crore farmers; UP topped with 2.25 crore beneficiaries

📍 Digital & Tech Advancements
✅ PM-KISAN App with facial e-KYC feature
✅ AI Chatbot (Kisan eMitra) launched for instant help in local languages
✅ Grievance redressal, benefit tracking, and remote registration made easier
✅ 5 lakh+ Common Service Centres (CSCs) enabled for access

✅ AgriStack – for personalised farmer advisory
✅ India Post Payments Bank – assisting Aadhaar-mobile linking
✅ State officials empowered to e-KYC 500 farmers each
