Indian Grandmaster Arjun Erigaisi (Warangal, Telangana) crossed the 2800 Elo rating mark with a win at the ongoing European Chess Club Cup in Serbia. Following this victory, he moved up to the world No. 3 ranking.

Arjun Erigaisi is only the second Indian after Viswanathan Anand to touch 2800. He reached this feat by defeating Russian Grandmaster Dmitry Andreikin.
