For the first time, the Ghoomar Festival 2025 will be celebrated simultaneously across all seven divisional headquarters of Rajasthan.

📍 Origin & Meaning
✅ Traditional folk dance of Rajasthan
✅ Name from “Ghoomna” = to twirl/spin
✅ Began with Bhil tribe as a devotional dance to Goddess Sarasvati, later adopted widely
📍 How It’s Performed
• Performed by women
• Vibrant, flowing ghaghara (skirts)
• Graceful twirls, circular movements
• Often in big groups forming moving circles
📍 Occasions
• Weddings
• Teej, Gangaur, and other festivals
• Community celebrations
📍 Musical Instruments
• Dhol, Nagada, Shehnai, Harmonium
📍 Cultural Significance
• Represents joy, celebration, femininity, grace, and communal harmony
