LINES ON THE EARTH
The lines on the Earth are imaginary horizontal lines of latitude (or parallels), and vertical lines of longitude (or meridians) that form a grid system used to locate any point on the Earth's surface. Major parallels of latitude include the Equator (0°), the Tropic of Cancer (23.5°N), the Tropic of Capricorn (23.5°S), the Arctic Circle (66.5°N), and the Antarctic Circle (66.5°S). Lines of longitude run from pole to pole, with the Prime Meridian (0°) serving as the starting point for measuring east or west.

LINES OF LATITUDE (PARALLELS)
➡️Orientation:
Run east to west, parallel to the Equator.

➡️Purpose:
Measure distance north or south of the Equator.

➡️Important Lines:
• Equator:
The 0° latitude line that divides the Earth into the Northern and Southern Hemispheres.

Njattadi Festival- Kerala

Njattadi festival is celebrated in the Indian state of Kerala. It is a traditional agricultural festival observed by farming communities to mark the beginning of the paddy (rice) sowing season. The name "Njattadi" comes from "Njattuvela," a period in the Malayalam calendar considered ideal for this agricultural activity.
