Adobe Premiere Pro is getting new generative AI features to enhance video editing workflow.

These features include Object Addition & Removal and Generative Extend, which allow users to manipulate video content by adding or removing objects within their footage and increasing the length of their clips, respectively.

Additionally, Adobe is planning to introduce a native text-to-video generator in 2025, which will enable users to create B-roll footage or brainstorm video ideas by entering text prompts or referencing images.

Adobe also aims to incorporate third-party generative AI models, such as OpenAI's and Runway's text-to-video generators or Pika Labs' AI model, into Premiere Pro's Generative Extend tool.

All content generated using AI within Premiere Pro will come with Content Credentials, Adobe's "nutrition label" detailing the tools used to create the content.

These new features aim to solve real pain points for video editors and give them more space to focus on their craft.

Adobe researchers have introduced VideoGigaGAN, a generative AI model capable of upsampling videos by up to 8x while preserving high-frequency details and ensuring temporal consistency.

Unlike other methods, VideoGigaGAN aims to achieve detail-rich upsampling without compromising temporal stability, which makes it a powerful tool for video editing and manipulation.

While the AI model is not yet available for public use, we can expect Adobe to integrate it into their software products in the near future.
