Dearly beloved GPC, we resume our Church-Wide Online Prayer meeting again this evening (2 July). Come, let's join our hearts together in prayer as fellow brothers and sisters in God's family. See you @ gpc.sg/joincwop (Zoom) from 8-9pm!
Today, we want to lift up the youths in our church, our families, and our nation. As they navigate the unique challenges of growing up in today's world, let us pray that they will be firmly rooted in Christ, protected by His grace, equipped for His purposes, and empowered by His Spirit to live as faithful disciples.
If you are unable to make the prayer meeting tonight, you can still be praying along using the following prayer points at any time of the day:
// Salvation and Faith
• Pray that every young person will have a genuine, personal encounter with God—one that goes beyond routine or inherited faith into a vibrant, transformed relationship with Him, marked by a growing hunger for prayer, Scripture, worship, and obedience.
• Pray that God will soften the hearts and open the eyes of unsaved or struggling youth in our families, church, and neighbourhoods —that they will draw closer to Him, finding truth in His Word and Christian community, and receive the Gospel in faith.
// Protection and Purity
• Pray that our youth will receive godly wisdom, discernment, and courage to navigate today’s pressures— including the digital world, cultural expectations, online temptations, family resistance, and social comparison— while choosing to follow Jesus faithfully.
• Pray that God will bring peace, healing, and restoration to youth who are struggling with anxiety, depression, self-harm, suicidal thoughts, addiction, sexual sin, or harmful patterns, and that the church will be a safe place of grace, help, and full restoration.
// Purpose and Direction
• Pray that our youth will pursue things of eternal significance over worldly success, rejecting materialism, status, and self-advancement as life’s highest goals, and instead see their studies, careers, and future paths as platforms for Kingdom impact.
• Pray that God will raise up young people for His purposes in every sphere, including full-time ministry, missions, church planting, and National Service—forming their character, surrounding them with godly friendships, and making them bold witnesses wherever they are.
// Family and Relationships
• Pray for God’s wisdom, grace, and healing over families— that parents and guardians will raise their teens in the fear of the Lord; strained relationships will be restored; youth from broken or high-pressure homes will experience comfort and stability; and that every young person will know they are loved beyond performance or achievement.
• Pray that our youth will build relationships that honour God— choosing friendships that strengthen godly character and intimacy with Christ, and approaching romantic relationships with patience, purity, wisdom, and a God-centred foundation.
// The Church's Role
• Pray that GPC will be a Spirit-filled, disciple-making church—forming deeply rooted followers of Christ beyond programmes or events, while remaining a safe, gracious, and welcoming community where young people facing doubt, identity struggles, or mental health challenges encounter both the love and truth of Christ.
• Pray that God will raise, strengthen, and empower those who disciple and lead the next generation—parents, mentors, youth leaders, pastors, teachers, care group leaders, and student missionaries—so that they serve with wisdom, joy, humility, perseverance, and boldness, equipping our youth to serve, lead, and witness for Christ now in every school, NS camp, workplace, and neighbourhood.
Thank you for lifting up our youths in prayer today. May the Lord preserve this generation, strengthen them in faith, and raise them up to shine as faithful witnesses of Christ in every place He sends them. React with a ❤️ when you've prayed!
How can a young man keep his way pure? By guarding it according to your word. ~Psalm 119:9

At our Church-Wide Online Prayer meeting yesterday evening, Dn Nicholas shared a devotion on how people need the Lord, and how we can be channels of God's blessing to them by witnessing and testifying of Him. We then took time to pray for our youths and the youth ministry, including those serving and mentoring the youths. If you missed it, here is a recording of yesterday's devotion and prayer points. Join us for our next CWOP on 16 July! And oh yes, do look out for the prayer booth this coming Sunday so that you can join in praying for our youths by name!

Dearly beloved GPC family, during Sunday's sermon, we were asked to consider: If the church is not a safe place for the LGBTQ+ community, then where can they go? Who can they turn to? May it be our prayer to grow into a truly loving community, where people are loved enough to stay and loved enough to change.
Let us take time today to pray for the LGBTQ+ community, be it those around or amongst us; also for ourselves individually and as a church as we reach out in hospitality towards them. You are encouraged to pray by name for those whom you know. You may use the following suggested prayer points:
// Prayer for those who experience LGBTQ+ attraction
• That Christians who struggle with same-sex attraction will know that their identity is rooted in Christ rather than in their sexuality.
• That they will experience the assuring love of the heavenly Father instead of shame over their feelings of same-sex attraction.
• That they will grow in holiness (in other areas as well) by the help of the Holy Spirit and not give in to temptations to sin.
• That they will be able to find safe spaces in Christian community (deep spiritual friendships, spiritual mentors, etc.) to receive the needed companionship, support and guidance to journey alongside them.
• That God's word and Spirit will convict LGBTQ+ persons who enter into the church doors of the sin and harmfulness of homosexual relationships but also of His love for them.
// Prayer for ourselves
• That we will examine our hearts and attitudes towards the LGBTQ+, confessing any sinful or wrong stereotypes we hold towards them.
• That how we speak about the LGBTQ+ in all contexts will be respectful and recognise them as persons made in the image of God.
• That our interactions with the LGBTQ+ (regardless of how they feel about their sexuality) will be marked by love and truth instead of fear or condemnation.
• That we will humbly and patiently journey alongside those struggling with same-sex attraction, being willing to learn from their fight for holiness and confessing our own areas of brokenness.
// Prayer for the church
• That the church will be a community where LGBTQ+ persons can feel welcome and experience genuine friendship, not rejected nor avoided.
• That God will grant courage to those undergoing similar struggles to strengthen fellow brothers and sisters through their testimonies, prayer, presence and encouragement.
• That God's word will continue to be preached and taught faithfully without giving in to revisionist theologies, so that His truth will transform and set free from sin by the power of the Holy Spirit.
• That our hearts will continually be transformed by the gospel, freeing us as a church to be honest and open with our struggles with sin, be it same-sex attraction or not; that we may be committed to build up and encourage one another in love and grow as a church, sanctified by His Spirit.
Thank you for lifting up our church in prayer. May we continue to extend His radical hospitality to one another, so that we may all experience the blessedness of being welcomed into God's family, together!

Mdm Tay Kim Ching was the beloved mother of Ding Kiong Sam and mother-in-law of Stella Goh. Stella worships at our 7.30am English Service and serves in our Women's Ministry.
☝️Please refer to the wake and funeral service details shown above. GPC English Service will be conducting both the wake and funeral service.
Let us uphold Ding Kiong Sam, Stella Goh, Ding Li Jie Sean (grandson), Ding Jia Lin Sarah (granddaughter), and their loved ones in our prayers. May we also extend our love and support to the family during this time of bereavement.
May the Lord surround the family with His comfort, strength, and abiding peace.
We would like to extend our heartfelt condolences to the family and loved ones of the late Mdm Tay Kim Ching, who was called home to be with the Lord on the morning of 24 July.
