What we’ve been up to at GLM this August 👇

August was another inspiring month of learning, service and community at Green Lane Masjid, alhamdulillah 🙌

We delivered three focused Islamic programmes, while Muslim students from across the UK gathered at GLM for the BMS ISOC Changemakers Summit. We also welcomed around 50 local residents for a special community tour of Birmingham City Football Club ⚽

IslamWise facilitated five shahadahs and continued supporting revert brothers and sisters through weekly circles, monthly gatherings and social activities.

Across our welfare services, volunteers contributed over 320 hours. Our Foodbank supported more than 270 vulnerable people, Sisters’ Coffee Mornings welcomed around 200 attendees, and the Zakat Service assisted over 100 people.

Your generosity also helped raise more than £40,000 for humanitarian projects, while GLM content reached over 1.18 million views across YouTube, Instagram, Facebook and TikTok 🌍

This all happened in just one month.

Alhamdulillah, August was another busy month of learning, service and community at Green Lane Masjid.

From Islamic education and youth activities to revert support, welfare services and humanitarian fundraising, thousands of people benefited from our work.

Some of this month’s highlights included:

🕋 Selling out our Seerah Umrah tour
🤝 5 people accepting Islam through IslamWise
🥫 Supporting over 270 vulnerable people through our food bank
☕ Welcoming around 200 sisters to our Bromford coffee mornings
🎒 Over 175 children attending our Summer School
📖 Over 60 children attending our Youth Qur’an Camp

With great sadness, we announce the passing of Sister Rabia Bibi Hussain, who has returned to her Creator.

May Allah (SWT) grant patience and strength to her family and loved ones during this difficult time.

The Janazah prayer will take place Tomorrow (Wednesday, 16th September) at 1:45 PM, after Salatul-Dhuhr.
