*Ṣalat al-Kusuf | Eclipse Prayer at Green Lane Masjid* 🌘

This *Wednesday 12th August 2026*, we will be holding Ṣalat al-Kusuf (the Eclipse Prayer) at Green Lane Masjid, should the eclipse be visible in Birmingham, Insha’Allah.

Following the Sunnah of the Prophet ﷺ, at the time of an eclipse we turn to Allah through prayer, duʿā, remembrance and seeking His forgiveness.

We encourage our congregation to join us should the eclipse be visible.

How to Pray the Eclipse Prayer (Salah al-Kusoof)

*Divorce* is a subject that is often misunderstood and, unfortunately, many people only begin learning its rulings when they are already facing a difficult situation.

Al-Isnad Institute is holding a two-day course on the Fiqh of Divorce, providing students with a valuable opportunity to understand this important area of Islamic law through the study of classical texts.

The course will explore the relevant chapters from The Student’s Foundation by Imām al-Bahūtī and Bulūgh al-Marām by Imām Ibn Ḥajar. The texts will be read in Arabic with an English translation, alongside commentary explaining the main rulings and lessons.

Sometimes, one conversation can change everything.

A student came with genuine questions about Islam and wanted someone he could speak to openly.

Through Green Lane Masjid’s university chaplaincy work, he had the opportunity to sit with a Muslim chaplain on campus, ask his questions and explore Islam through a real conversation.

By the end of that conversation, he accepted Islam. Alhamdulillah.

This is just one example of the impact of having Muslim chaplaincy present on university campuses - providing guidance, answering questions and being there when students need someone to turn to.
