Introducing DevFest’23 Guest Speakers, Mirafe Gebriel Marcos

Mirafe represents the African Leadership Group (ALG) in Ethiopia, managing an ecosystem of companies that includes ALX, and Sand Technologies.

Priot to joining the ALG, he was the Senior Director of the Agribusiness & Markets division and a member of the Senior Executive Team at the
Agricultural Transformation Agency.

Mirafe was also served with the World Bank for ten years in different capacities, including as a Country Economist for Ethiopia, Pakistan and Bangladesh.

Mirafe is a graduate of the World Bank’s Young Professionals Program and has broad international work experience, including significant dealings with
senior policy makers in Africa, Latin America and Asia.

He holds an MA in Public Administration, with a concentration in Development Economics, from Princeton University, and a BA in Economics from Grinnell College.

with both code and creativity. But Yohannes is more than just lines of Swift – he's a multifaceted tech enthusiast who thrives at the intersection of
development and expression.

While his days are spent building innovative iOS apps, his evenings come alive with witty nerd memes that tickle the funny bones of tech communities
on Twitter and LinkedIn. His articles on Medium, meanwhile, showcase a deeper side, delving into insights and perspectives on the ever-evolving world
of technology.

Introducing DevFest’23 Guest Speakers, Nemo Semret

Nemo is a researcher, engineer and entrepreneur, currently CEO of QRB Labs, a new venture he co-founded in 2021. QRB Labs providea data centers for location-agnostic high-energy computations such as Bitcoin mining, and AI model training. Its mission is to accelerate the electrification of Africa by monetizing stranded energy, which helps finance the development of the grid, while facilitating the global transition to renewable energy in Bitcoin and AI.

Software Engineer with a demonstrated history of working in the industry. Skilled in Software Development (PHP, Java), Data Analytics, Agile Methodologies, Research and Leadership. Engineering professional with a bachelor degree focused in Software Engineering from Addis Ababa Science and Technology University.

💻 Hands-on Workshops on DevFest ’23 with Negsa Marvin

Ngesa is a GDE (Google Developer Expert) in Machine Learning Engineer specialising in signal processing and computer vision.

He started his Cloud ML journey as an Intel AI Innovator and later joined Liquid Telecom as an IoT Solutions Engineer. He is currently
a Device Manager at Safaricom PLC and an Arm AI Ambassador. When not building products, he loves to teach and share knowledge with others. He believes ML education should be free and accessible to all.

As of late, he has been working on sensor data analysis from IoT devices to help manage Device lifecycles and drive
the right customer experience.

He founded Nairobi AI and leads Machine Learning efforts in communities such as GDG Nairobi and Tiny ML Kenya.
