He is called Nathan Damtew, the Founder of BeBlocky. BeBlocky is a gamified learning app that sets out to teach children the basics of computer science in a fun and interactive way. It will help them develop new ways of thinking and advances them in valuable skills. Nathan has integrated Augmented Reality in his amazing product using ARCore. The YALI Regional Leadership Center East Africa is keen to reach marginalized young leaders, many of whom have limited access to internet and such opportunities.
These include: young women, persons living with disabilities, but most importantly, young leaders in rural areas.
The requirements are as below:
Are 18 to 35 years of age at the time of application submission,
Are citizens and residents officials one of the following countries: Burundi, Central African Republic. Republic of the Congo, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda,
Are not U.S. citizens or permanent residents of the U.S.,
Are eligible to receive any necessary visa to Kenya, and
Are proficient in reading, writing, listening and speaking English.
The application window will be open on June 17 to July 1, 2019 on the RLC website here.
