Yared leads Visa’s strategy, partnerships, and digital payments growth across the Eastern Africa region. With 20+ years of experience in FinTech and banking, he has held senior roles in digital transformation at Cooperative Bank of Oromia, Bank of Abyssinia, Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank, and Wegagen Bank.
He has extensive expertise in implementing digital and core banking systems across East Africa and the Middle East. Yared holds a Master’s in Computer Science, a BSc in Applied Physics, and certifications in Project Management and Scrum.

Thrilled to have Dagmawi Esayas speaking at DevFest Addis 2025.
Dagmawi Esayas (Babi) is a Fullstack Developer and founder of ScholarXIV, contributing to one of Ethiopia’s fastest-growing research platfroms. With a strong background in delivering production systems across startups, large companies, event platforms, and government projects, Dagmawi brings a practical and experience-driven perspective to modern software engineering.
He began his programming journey in 2013 after discovering a batch programming ebook, an unexpected spark that ignited his passion for solving problems through code. Since then, he has built a diverse portfolio ranging from mobile and web applications to integrations, automation systems, and backend architecture.
Beyond his work at ScholarXIV, Dagmawi has created and maintained multiple projects, including API Hub, Fidel Pops, Enkokilish AI Benchmark and social projects like Benaiah, Ruthful Hearts and The Unity Project Mural and many more tools used by online communities. He is deeply passionate about building minimal, modern, and powerful digital products that simplify everyday challenges.
