Rising from an artificial peninsula on Istanbulβs Asian shore, Haydarpasa Station is a castle-like railway terminal designed by German architects Otto Ritter and Helmut Cuno. The electric drive is designed for 1/25 type high-speed rail turnouts, as the switches stretch for 118 metres which allow trains to branch onto a side track at speeds of up to 120 km/h while maintaining a smooth ride. It operates in conjunction with a hardware-software complex that enables both remote and fully automatic switching, with real-time monitoring of device status.
