This day in history is the death of the Prophet Muhammad.
According to the Islamic creed, Muhammad was the last prophet and Messenger of Allah to whom the Holy Scripture, the Quran, was revealed. It is difficult to underestimate the role of Muhammad in the formation of Islam and the Muslim community. But on June 8, 632, Muhammad died at the age of 62.

1967. The last official duel in France. Marseille Mayor Gaston Deffer (facing us) and Socialist Party presidential candidate Rene Ribier met on swords. The reason for the duel was Deffer's remark during Ribiera's speech: Taisez-vous, abruti! (Shut up, you fool!) Deffer refused to apologize and then Ribier challenged him to a duel.
The next day, the presidential candidate was to have a wedding and the mayor of Marseille promised to spoil his wedding night. And so it happened. 57-year-old Deffer wounded Riviera twice with a sword, after which the duel was stopped.
