Ethiopia has awarded its first diplomatic passport to East African Holding Chairman Buzuayehu Tadele (PhD), honoring his decades of consistent tax compliance and substantial contributions to the national economy. The award follows Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed's directive to accord special privileges to the country's highest-level taxpayers.

The diplomatic passport was presented to Buzuayehu by the FDRE Immigration and Citizenship Service, making him the first beneficiary of Ethiopia's new taxpayer recognition program. The initiative, launched in 2018 by Pm Abiy Ahmed(PhD), aims to foster a culture of tax compliance by offering tangible rewards to businesses and individuals who consistently meet their tax obligations.
