Firstly, we express our complete welcome and high appreciation for your position and for the visit you have made to Lebanon, this beautiful country, which God has endowed with a geographical location and a diverse sectarian organization, within a framework of one life and general harmony, which are two necessary characteristics for the stability of its political system and national security.

Your predecessor, Pope John Paul II, considered Lebanon not just a homeland, but a message... and the fact is that Lebanon, with its diverse composition, represents a civilized link between the followers of the two heavenly messages, Christianity and Islam, and between the followers of religious, cultural, and secular trends in all countries and continents.

When humanity is at the center of attention of all religions, and even ideological trends, it is possible to look forward to achieving permanent peace and security.

As we read in your directives and messages, with utmost care for human rights and their necessity to be respected and protected, those rights transcend individual aspects to a broader circle, which is that of nations.

What the world witnesses today from conflicts... is due to some people's evasion of any commitment or recognition of other people's rights, whether because of differences in religion or color or race or language or interest...

It is not hidden that some people's disregard for human rights whether they are leaders or parties or sects or countries or organizations revives and nourishes trends of greed and control and tyranny and resorting to force instead of resorting to justice.

The tragedy that Gaza witnessed in occupied Palestine during the past two years which continues is a tragedy caused by Zionist occupiers' persistence in stripping Palestinians' rights in their land and homeland and determining their fate.

This tragedy also stems from international neglect in adopting justice as a measure for finding solutions for ongoing conflicts between owners of land on one hand who are rightful owners versus aggressors on another hand.

Similarly Lebanese sufferings resulting from Israeli occupation over parts their land, continued aggression against them, threats against security, attempts at controlling water resources, attempting forcing Lebanese into submission under conditions set by Israel without limits.

There's no doubt Israeli occupation enjoys unlimited support from major powers sharing expansionist ambitions disregarding regional populations' rights altogether.

What Israel did against Palestinian population amounts as described genocide whereas actions taken against Lebanon constitute an ongoing rejected aggression.

We seize this opportunity during your blessed visit... confirming adherence on our part: coexistence, consensual democracy, maintaining internal stability while protecting national sovereignty standing alongside army & populace facing potential aggression & occupation alike.

Furthermore we commit ourselves righteously rejecting foreign interference seeking imposing tutelage upon nation & populace undermining national decision-making authority granted constitutionally.
