At President Erdoğan’s personal request, Israel has allowed members of Ismail Haniyeh’s family to leave Gaza for Turkey, according to Middle East Eye. 16 members of the late Hamas leader’s family were among a group of Palestinians and Turkish citizens permitted to cross out of Gaza earlier this month. The move reportedly followed a direct Turkish diplomatic request made after the recent ceasefire agreement, in which Ankara played a mediating role.
