According to Kan Hebrew Channel, Lebanese daily Al-Nahar reported an assassination attempt on Syrian President Ahmed Al-Shara was foiled. Iraqi security sources say ex-Hayat Tahrir al-Sham members, dissatisfied with Al-Shara’s policies after Assad’s fall, planned the attack. Iraq also warned of plots targeting minority areas in Syria to spark sectarian conflict.
