Remember, it's important to spend as much time as possible away from your family to make more money so that your kids can have expensive clothes and stuff, because that's what children need

January Limerick Contest

Get creative this January and join our limerick contest! We're celebrating the subtle joys and freedoms found in simpler living. Let's see how you can capture the channel's message in a limerick.

How to Enter:
- Craft a limerick that captures one of the themes of the channel, such as the joys of a simpler, less materialistic life, the superiority of small town and/or rural living to the life of urbanites, the selfishness of mainstream living, how great the 🖼️ is, how nobody would like it in the 🖼️, etc.
- Post your creation in the chat. You can reply here or post elsewhere in the chat – we'll make sure to find and consider all entries.
- No limit on number of entries, so long as it doesn't get spammy.
- Deadline is January 31st at 8:00 PM EST

Here are my terrible examples:
With pockets so heavy with gold,
The rich move through life, uncontrolled.
But those with less weight,
Find an easier fate,
And their freedom is more than tenfold.

In a tiny town, where life is serene,
Folks find joy in a world so green.
With acres to roam,
And a modest home,
Their happiness is felt, not just seen.

The Superior Lake reflected the sky's clear blue,
And the U.P. seemed to be calling you.
But then you saw a bear,
Couldn't stand the cold air,
Knew you wouldn't like it here, and withdrew.

Prize:
The winner will receive a year of Telegram Premium for free the evening of January 31st.

Some additional entries will be posted to the channel.

Best of luck! This should be fun

Post from Twitter.

Took my wife into work today for safety sakes. It’s -45 this morning.

Saw a fellow sitting in his EV at a charging station. The businesses were still closed for him to stay warm and dawdle while his car charged.

I briefly spoke with him as he went into the store. He said he’s been sitting in the car running the heaters and it was taking about twice as long to charge. The car’s range was about 280km in the cold he said.

The fellow said his trip to Saskatoon from Kelowna takes about 3 times longer for charging time (sitting time).

His charges today were about $100 and two hours of sitting with heaters on and the battery was only 2/3 charged.

He said he liked his EV, but only in summer. But he said only if it’s not too hot, AC drains batteries very fast.

So, if you live in Canada, and are considering buying an EV, make sure your pockets are deep and you’re NEVER on a schedule. I wished him luck. His name was Jack (John) from Kelowna.
