THE Philosopher
Right wingers are the dumbest people on the planet. Celebrating this as a victory was a grand display of their naivety.
Dr. Gay was a serious threat, man. Kicking her down to a college professor level is how we win!!!!
How will the regime continue without Dr. Gay, the linchpin of their operation?! It's so over for them, and we're so back! Total victory!
π How do these people think like this and not realize they're the butt of a joke?

Beneath a sky so gray and vast,
The final apples cling with might,
Against the winter's chilling blast,
A remnant of the summer's light.
In a world where virtues wane and bend,
Unyielding men, with honor rare,
Against the tide, they won't descend,
A flicker in the dark despair.
Like apples, stubborn on their bough,
These men hold fast 'gainst stormy weather,
In fallen times, they show us how,
Endurance binds them both together.

But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people.

Just finished reading the explosion in chat. This wasn't a good exercise in civility. We don't hurl around insults here. Us poor folk are better than that.
When things shift beyond polite conversation, when they get personal, that's where it should end. Show grace, wish them well, and remember that everyone has bad days. If someone's attitude is persistently a problem, then maybe it's time to consider removing them. But in general, be forgiving and remember that you, too, have done and said things that were out of line at some time and place. Nobody's perfect, and we get along better when we recognize that and try to help one another improve rather than duke it out.

It's true
Imagine thinking that being a good person produces wealth in our current society

It's Professor Tolkien's birthday, raise a glass to him today. Reminder that Oxford cut down his favorite tree a few years ago
Apparently middle class people can't afford to eat out anymore. I'm confused because I barely make any money and can occasionally eat out. I wonder if this is true for poors generally
