This release brings tons of performance, battery life, and security improvements over Mint 11.3.1, plus Magisk v24 with full support for Zygisk!

📲 Main Changes

- Upstream kernel to Linux 4.14.200
- Bumps Security Patch Level to December 2021 (A50s) or January 2022 (A50).
- Upstream kernel modules to currently-available Samsung stock sources.
- Updated Magisk to v24.1, with full support for Zygisk.
- Support and fixes for Android 12-based ROMs and GSIs.
- Finally, enabled support for COMPAT_VDSO again after months of tweaking. Improves performance for 64-bit compatibility for 32-bit processes.
- Move to 500Hz interrupts for observable improvements to device performance.
- For-performance tweaks and backports from custom kernels for the POCO X3 and the Galaxy M21.

⭐️ Improvements and Fixes

- Updates to devfreq_boost, should be more stable and battery-friendly now.
- Updates to Pressure Sensitive Indicator (PSI) support.
- Improvements to schedutil. Should fix device frequency scaling, which on 11.3 was staying on the lowest.
- Re-enable Samsung's "AI"-based frequency management, Kernel perspective AI based Resource Control (KAIR).
- Changes to the Mali GPU driver, which should improve performance as well as battery life.
- Changes to TCP, including improvements for bbr.
- Improvements to memory management and allocation.
- Improvements to Samsung SQZR/RAM Plus support. Requires a supported ROM.
- Improvements for the boosted fingerprint scan to further improve biometric speed.
- Fixes for MTP support on AOSP for some edge-cases.
- Various performance and stability improvements.

For who have been able to install Mint 11.5 while it was available: This is an intermediary release, fixing a fatal device crash when using specific apps. Notably, streaming services such as Netflix or Amazon Prime Video.

🍋 Soooooooooo, hi. Fresh build?

This is your first peek to the future of Android, One UI, and Fresh. Fresh 3.4 Preview is here.

This is all of my work from November 2021 onwards. Was supposed to be Fresh 3.5 Stable but it hasn't met my (honestly high) standards to be considered a full Fresh release. It is daily-drivable and I have been daily-driving this since December 2021, but I won't consider it to be a proper Fresh release.

This is also the last release for the Fresh 3 series. I have now decided to work on other things, as well as prepare for work on the FreshROMs 4 series, when the possibility and free time comes.

Changes since 3.2.3 Stable:

⚙️ Core:
- Update TWRP to 3.6.0 and Mint to 11.6.0 Stable.
- Upstream to Linux kernel 4.14.200 with stability and security improvements.
- Magisk v24.1 with support for Zygisk.
- Upstream to current Samsung stock kernel sources.
- Improvements over the past two months. See Mint 11.6's changelog for more info.

📱 System:
- Changed system base to the Samsung Galaxy A51 (SM-A515F).
- January 2022 security updates for both the vendors and system. Includes Samsung's 3.1.1 backports to 3.1.
- Full architectural change to how the ROM is built. Vendor should now be usable with AOSP GSIs with little to no issues.
- Fixes and improvements to RAM Plus. It should now fully work than 3.2.3, which is half-broken.
- Various performance and memory management improvements.

💫 Experience:
- Significant majority of apps from One UI 4. Ports include stock apps such as Dialer, Contacts, and Messages.
- One UI 4-esque theming for non-port apps, including the Settings, Camera, and System UI. These are non-intrusive, meaning that apps can be updated yet keep the theme.
- Emojis from One UI 4, with fallback on AOSP 12 emojis.
- Added support for 'Protect Battery'. (Device Care > Battery > More battery options)

🪲 Issues:
- There is no over-the-air update support. I have better plans to fully integrate software updates within One UI but I wasn't able to get to do it, as well as make the infrastructure to make it possible. I have no plans to add OTA support for this release.
- I have tried my best to keep themes compatible with this release despite the non-intrusive One UI 4 theming. Remaining issues are not fixable at this point, everything I can fix is fixed.
- Send logs (include logcat, kernel logs, and device messages/dmesg) and report.

📝 Installation Notes:
- Magisk v24.1 completely removes MagiskHide and the online module repository. This is intentional and is NOT a bug.
- Search online on how to pass SafetyNet using Magisk v24.
- Your addons will NOT migrate from 3.2 to this release. This is NOT a bug and is intentional due to architectural changes (see above). If you're from Fresh 3.2, you will also be detected as a new user during installation.
- While the translation project for Zest hint at new features, them missing from this release is intentional. I have no plans to add additional features to Fresh 3 at this point. They will come in a future Fresh release.
- As this is a legitimate One UI update from 3.2, you will experience performance issues after update. Regenerating ART cache takes a while (and is only done when the device is idle, and in some cases only while charging). You can use Galaxy App Booster to speed up the process.
- The following features have been removed: Samsung DeX; Live Blur.
- The following services have been closed by Samsung: Places tab in Phone app.

This release also deprecates Fresh Hub and its current online services. They will remain online as long as possible but no updates will be released for the old Fresh Hub app at this point. Work for the new Hub app is also shelved as I get FreshROMs back to its roots of simplistic and fast development time. This will allow me to work on actual issues better and will make FreshROMs less of a burden to me.

Updated TWRP and SHRP to now support both DTB and DTBO backup, restore, and image install. It's also updated to TWRP 3.6.1.

It should now be easier to go between AOSP and One UI-based ROMs without having to reflash stock. Just make sure to back them up first. ;>

Vanced has been discontinued. In the coming days, the download links will be taken down. The Discord server, Telegram chat and subreddit will stay for the time being. We know this is not something you wanted to hear, but it's something we had to do. We want to thank you all for the support over the years.
