The NGOs include Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders), Oxfam and the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC).
Israel’s Ministry of Diaspora Affairs stated the organizations failed to comply with stringent new registration rules introduced in March 2025.
Affected groups have 60 days to cease all operations in Gaza and must leave Israel by March 1, 2026, if their offices are located there.
Aid groups warn the move will be “catastrophic.” MSF alone supports 20% of hospital beds and one-third of births in Gaza.
Foreign ministers from 10 countries—including the UK, France, Canada, and Japan—issued a joint statement calling the ban “unacceptable” given the already “catastrophic” conditions.
On December 30, 2025, the Knesset also passed a law to cut all water, electricity, and telecommunications to UNRWA offices in Jerusalem.

gestern (31. Dezember 2025, in der Silvesternacht) gab es einen schweren Brand in Amsterdam. Die historische Vondelkerk (auch Vondelkirche genannt) nahe dem Vondelpark wurde weitgehend zerstört.
Der Brand brach kurz nach Mitternacht aus, der etwa 50 Meter hohe Turm stürzte ein, und Teile des Dachs sowie des Mittelschiffs kollabierten. Die Feuerwehr kämpfte stundenlang gegen die Flammen, und am Vormittag des 1. Januar 2026 wurde der Brand unter Kontrolle gebracht. Es gab keine Verletzten, aber zahlreiche Anwohner mussten evakuiert werden, und es entstand eine massive Funkenflug-Gefahr.
Die Ursache ist noch nicht geklärt, es wird aber ein Zusammenhang mit dem intensiven Feuerwerk in der Silvesternacht vermutet (es war die letzte Nacht vor dem landesweiten Böllerverbot in den Niederlanden)
