Yesterday's brutal murder of CashApp founder Bob Lee in San Francisco got me thinking about the many deaths of tech and Cryptocurrency entrepreneurs, engineers and investors. Specifically those which occurred in the Bay Area, Central Coast and Silicon Valley area California (all less than 2 hours apart via car travel). Take the case of Tushar Atre and Erin Valenti. Valenti had just attended a tech conference in which designs for neural network were to be unveiled. Her last communication to her family was "It's all a game. We're all in the Matrix." After an extensive missing persons search, she was found dead in the back seat of her rental car. She was found by a Facebook employee who volunteered to help in the search party. Police had been able to locate the area her last cell phone signal pinged, but didn't see the rental vehicle. There were no signs of drugs or physical assault. The coroner ruled her death as "natural causes".. She was only 33 and in good health, other than a prior history of a thyroid condition which had been under control for years.
