Masks are worn a lot on TV. Notice how perfect announcers look these days? Not like Huntley and Brinkley with all their aging skin and flaws in the 60s. “skin masks”. But also, “live broadcasts” have a short time lag so if something totally unacceptable happens on air they can catch it and stop it going out to the world.
