I’m wondering if that was also when the shoganate fell in Japan although that is attributed to 1860s. That may have been just the date of the reconstitution of any government— in this case the creation of an Imperial throne. Makes a great tale, but the old buiilding is red brick and elsewhere that tended to withstand whatever heat was applied the longest. Maybe thats the reason for the nursery story of three little pigs and house of brick.
