Years ago when I was in the Navy my friend was an officer on a mine sweeper— the last wooden hulled ships at that time. They participated in a NATO exercise where 100 mines were placed in the English Channel and NATO Ships from all countries sent out to recover them. US Navy = 98 mines recovered. Out of curiosity…what is the reason for “illegal fireworks”? Eapecially when sold by legal fireworks stores as noted elsewhere…I smell a tax problem. And secondly, why is the fire hazard not in small town America where we ALL light off fireworks? Or is it not reported? Or its congested areas? Seems like if they started fires we would see them here too…
