🇲🇫 The Petit-Clamart attack, designated by its authors as Operation Charlotte Corday, is the action of the OAS-Métropole / OAS-CNR, led by Lieutenant-Colonel Jean Bastien-Thiry, aimed at eliminating General de Gaulle, President of the Republic, on August 22, 1962 in Clamart in the department of Seine (today in Hauts-de-Seine).

⚜️ 23 août 1741 : naissance de Jean-François de La Pérouse, explorateur français.

Jean-François Galaup, comte de la Pérouse, naît au manoir du Gô à Albigeois. Il entre dans la Royale à l'âge de 15 ans et y fait toute sa carrière.

Nommé lieutenant de vaisseau en 1777, puis capitaine de vaisseau, il dirige en 1785, une expédition visant à poursuivre les découvertes faites par James Cook dans l'océan pacifique. Il disparaît au cours de cette aventure avec le reste de son équipe à Vanuatu en 1788. Quelques minutes avant de monter sur l'échafaud le Roi Louis XVI demande de ses nouvelles.
