🇪🇸 La bataille d'Otumba est un affrontement décisif de la conquête de l'Empire aztèque par les Espagnols.

Le 7 juillet 1520, les troupes d'Hernán Cortés, qui fuyaient Mexico-Tenochtitlan en direction de Tlaxcala, à la suite de la déroute de la Noche Triste, furent rattrapées par un important contingent de guerriers aztèques dans la plaine d'Otompan.

Alors même que les Castillans risquaient d'être débordés par leurs ennemis, Cortés et cinq de ses meilleurs cavaliers parvinrent à franchir les lignes aztèques, chargeant à cheval au cri de "Santiago" et tuèrent alors l'ensemble des commandants ennemis, entraînant la fuite des armées aztèques.

Il faut aussi répéter sans hésiter que la conquête des empires aztèque et inca apporta, malgré sa violence, le triomphe de la civilisation sur la cruauté démoniaque de la religion et des dieux amérindiens, dont elle libéra les peuples autochtones.

🇪🇸 The Battle of Otumba was a decisive confrontation in the Spanish conquest of the Aztec Empire.

On 7 July 1520, Hernán Cortés' troops, who were fleeing Mexico-Tenochtitlan in the direction of Tlaxcala, following the rout of the Noche Triste, were overtaken by a large contingent of Aztec warriors on the Otompan plain.

Just as the Castilians were in danger of being overrun by their enemies, Cortés and five of his best horsemen managed to break through the Aztec lines, charging on horseback to the cry of "Santiago" and killing all the enemy commanders, causing the Aztec armies to flee.

❗Les premiers participants à la conférence européenne de l'#APF à Belgrade 🇷🇸 sont arrivés au cours de la journée et les premières discussions de travail ont déjà pu avoir lieu.
Le congrès proprement dit commencera demain et je vous tiendrai bien sûr au courant.
Le contenu de ce week-end sera consacré aux futures planifications de la résistance européenne, à la situation au Kosovo ainsi qu'aux #élections européennes de 2024.
J'ai heureusement pu profiter d'une pause dans l'après-midi pour prendre un peu de culture. J'ai ainsi pu découvrir avec un camarade espagnol la forteresse de Belgrade, ainsi qu'une partie du #Danube.
