Wie oft sind wir geschritten
auf schmalem Negerpfad,

durch tiefe Urwaldnacht,

Durch Steppengräserwogen
sind wir hindurchgezogen

Und saßen wir am Feuer
des Nachts wohl vor dem Zelt,
lag wie in stiller Feier

La commémoration de facto du héros a été énorme et a duré plusieurs jours.

Hristo Lukov wurde 1935 bulgarischer Kriegsminister, war Vorsitzender des “Bundes der Bulgarischen Nationalen Legionen” und pflegte zeit seines Lebens gute Kontakte zu deutschen Nationalisten bzw. auch zur deutschen Reichsregierung.
