“Spoons, Washboard, and Banjo”

My stepfather, Bill Edwards, was one of the finest men I’ve ever known. He was from Tennessee, and as I was driving by the Grand Ole Opry today I remembered him fondly, dancing a jig, playing the washboard and spoons, and picking his banjo.

Thank you, Bill, for making a positive difference in my life.

"The Jolly String Quartet"

It was my first event in Tennessee, and I received a very warm welcome.

I had no idea how warm it would be...

These four youngsters were amazing, and they appeared and played the warmup at no charge.

They did foot-stompin' blue grass, gospel, big band, hymns, patriotic, and even threw in some amazing Vivaldi.

Of course, I am now trying to book them for my son's wedding in June.

They are amazing talents, but even more amazing when you realize that they are all from Eastern Russian orphanages.

From trash to talent.

What an amazing event yesterday in Murfreesboro.

I woke today thinking of chapter one in the book of James. Amazingly relevant and encouraging.

The last two verses (shown above) are particularly relevant, especially in light of meeting the Jolly family. They've adopted SEVEN orphans, and they are beautiful, unstained treasures.

Pure and faultless.

What an honor to meet them, and so looking forward to seeing them at future events. I'm recommending them to all you event planners out there... they will brighten your event, I promise you.

"A Day Off"

I took the day off Sunday. Caught up on my rest.

I am headed to Nebraska today.

"Spam"

Lots more spam recently on this channel, and Ally and I are trying to keep up with it. If we accidentally delete something of yours in the process, please be patient with us.

"Hate Mail"

I get some. More lately. It reveals more about the authors than me.

There are people I don't like much, but I would not write about them what they do about me. Much less take the time to type, print, sign, stamp, and mail.

Maybe it's necessary for their mental health... maybe an assignment by their psychotherapist.

"What Can Each of Us Do?"

I get this question often.

The short answer is, "Step up."

We're in this mess not for lack of evidence, but because of public inertia.

For decades we've relegated important tasks to others, such as governing ourselves, educating and raising our children, and managing our own elections.

We've earned our consequences, and they are not going away overnight. We are now suffering under government tyranny, and we will continue to do so until we...

Step up. Learn the constitution. Nurture your children. Be a responsible citizen.

Turn your eyes toward heaven. Pray every day. God didn't turn away from us... we turned away from Him.

Sad to watch Kansas throwing away their elections. This graph is from their own webpage.

Same phenomenon we see across the country... mail-in ballots make it easy to stuff phantom ballots. And about the same amount... ten percent inflation.

I met the loveliest family this evening in Nebraska.

Wholesome, successful, hard-working, Christian. Cream of the crop. I'm savoring every minute with them.

It makes me angry to think that there are people that would steal their votes and spit on their way of life.

Evil is like that.

Evil can't abide such beauty.

Well, beauty like this is worth fighting for.
