Hi, @ianfjeong.
We broke up because somewhere between the late night talks, the comfort, and the promises we made, we slowly started losing each other without even realizing it. At first, everything felt easy. We could talk for hours, laugh at the smallest things, and make each other feel safe no matter how bad the day was. But over time, things changed. The conversations became shorter, the effort stopped feeling mutual, and silence started replacing the things we used to say so naturally. In the end, we didn’t break up because we hated each other. We broke up because we got tired. Tired of misunderstanding each other, tired of pretending everything was okay, and tired of missing the old version of us while standing right beside each other. And maybe that’s what hurts the most, knowing we still cared, but not enough to keep us together anymore.

Bee @Jeonglank
Hi, @Jeonglank.
It wasn’t because we stopped loving each other instantly. I think that’s what made it hurt more. We still cared, still checked up on each other, still tried to hold onto what we had. But somewhere along the way, things started feeling heavier than they used to. Conversations became shorter, misunderstandings lasted longer, and silence slowly replaced the comfort we once had. There were nights I stayed awake rereading old messages, wondering when things changed. When we went from being each other’s safe place to feeling distant even while talking every day. We tried fixing it, we really did, but sometimes effort alone isn’t enough when two people are already hurting in different ways. I don’t think you were a bad person, and maybe I wasn’t either. We were just two people who loved each other deeply but didn’t know how to stop breaking each other at the same time. And eventually, the love that once felt warm started feeling painful to carry. So we let go. Not because we wanted to, but because staying started hurting more than leaving.

@jeoncian
Hi, @jeoncian.
I think we both knew it was coming, even if we never said it out loud. It wasn’t one big fight. Not one moment where everything shattered. It was quieter than that. It was the slow change in how we talked, how we replied, how we stopped sharing the small things that used to feel important. You stopped telling me about your day the way you used to. I stopped asking as much because I felt like I was disturbing your space. And somehow, in trying not to bother each other, we ended up becoming strangers who still cared. We tried, I know we did. We kept saying “it’s just a phase” or “we’re just busy,” but deep down we were both avoiding the truth. We were holding onto the idea of us, not the reality of us. The timing was never right either. When I needed you the most, you were dealing with your own battles. When you reached for me, I didn’t know how to be what you needed. We kept missing each other, even when we were right there. And I think the hardest part is, there’s no villain in this story. No one cheated, no one betrayed anyone. We just changed. Slowly. Quietly. Until love didn’t feel like home anymore, it felt like effort. So we ended it, not because we stopped caring, but because caring wasn’t enough to hold us together anymore. Maybe in another life, at a better time, we would’ve worked out. But in this one, we just loved each other at the wrong pace, in the wrong season.
