Thing about 'politics' in years past was it didn't divide the entire population into two opposing camps (except in the North where it was the entire point of plantation and reason for partition)
You might have been a Lefty when you were 20 and half your mates reckoned they were Right Wing, or the other way round. Or you disagreed til the cows came home about the IRA, or about American politics, or about a million things.
It wasn't a fault-line that would stop you talking to people or being good pals with them.
Very different now, though. There's a Civil War-level split between those who backed all this Globalist Evil and those who opposed it, and I can't see the wounds healing or any Forgiveness doing the rounds for a very long time to come
