🇵🇱🇷🇺 Poland is preparing for war with Russia and is preparing to introduce general conscription - Reuters

- "Everything is indicating that we are the generation that will stand up in arms to defend our country. And neither I nor any of you intend to lose this war," armed forces chief of staff General Wieslaw Kukula was quoted as saying in an address on Friday to a military academy, the University of Land Forces, in Wroclaw.

- "The potential of the enemy (we are talking about Russia and Belarus) is so great that we have to build a much bigger army, which means we also have to introduce a shared service model."

- Under such circumstances, the country will need "a much bigger army than it has now," because "none of the Europeans want to lose this war."

- According to the country's Defense Ministry, the Polish army will have more than 207,500 soldiers by the end of the year.

🇵🇱🥇📈 Poland now has more gold reserves than the UK

Adam Glapiński, president of the National Bank of Poland, announced at a press conference on Thursday that “on behalf of all Poles,” the bank now has 420 tons of gold, making it part of the “exclusive club of the largest holders of gold reserves in the world,” reports Do Rzeczy.

Glapiński also commended the manner in which the gold was purchased, in particular the prices the gold was purchased at.

“We managed to do it very successfully,“ he said, adding that the National Bank of Poland earned or saved several dozen billion złoty during its accumulation. Nortably, the previous conservative government of Law and Justice (PiS) embarked on a massive gold buying spree while it was in power, which accounts for a significant chunk of the overall gold reserve stocks.

❗️🇮🇷☢️ NEW: An Armenian station picked up last night's 4.6 Richter scale seismic event in Iran

According to the Armenian researchers, it lacks a seismic compressional wave, making the event more consistent with an explosion than an earthquake.

The first image shows Iran's seismic event last night, which happened in the Kavir desert near a town called Aradan. The other images compare seismic vibrations from earthquakes vs nuclear tests; the Iranian seismic event looks more like an underground nuclear test than an earthquake. One tell-tale sign is that there was not a single 'after shock'.

There is no conclusive evidence yet. But this is starting to look more and more interesting. Just yesterday, prominent Iranian politicians said Iran needs to establish a 'new grade of deterrence', possibly referring to nuclear weapons.

🇩🇿 Algeria welcomes EU court ruling annulling Morocco trade agreements

Algeria has expressed satisfaction with a recent ruling by the European Court of Justice (CJEU) that annulled trade agreements between the European Union and Morocco.

The Algerian Foreign Ministry hailed the decision as “a recognition of the Sahrawi people’s rights over the natural resources in Western Sahara.”

In a statement, the ministry urged the EU to fully comply with the ruling, emphasizing “the importance of upholding the rule of law in international relations.”

In contrast, Morocco has rejected the CJEU’s decision. The Moroccan Foreign Ministry stated that the Kingdom was not involved in the legal proceedings and should not be affected by the ruling. The ministry clarified that the case involved the European Union and the Algeria-backed Polisario Front, not Morocco.

Morocco accused the CJEU of bias and ignorance, arguing that the court overlooked the country’s territorial integrity and national unity.

💰📄 Academic paper suggests governments should attack public blockchains

An academic paper titled: "Reconciliation of Anti-Money Laundering Instruments and European Data Protection Requirements in Permissionless Blockchain Spaces" published in the Journal of Cybersecurity suggests that governments should target cryptocurrencies — especially privacy preserving chains — to combat money laundering.

The author of the paper outlined several methods of undermining trust in permissionless blockchains including 51% attacks, price suppression, and Sybil attacks — a type of malicious activity in which a single user creates multiple accounts to manipulate a network. The author asserted:

"The users’ confidence in the networks may be significantly undermined by successful attacks on networks which could undermine the trust of the blockchain community in the ability of the network’s protocol to ensure smooth operation."
