While we were discussing possible threats to Russia from the Baltics, a new North Atlantic Alliance exercise under the code name Rammstein Alloy took place over the former Soviet republics.

This is a planned event, the purpose of which is to test the readiness of air defense assets deployed in the Baltics, as part of the Baltic Air Policing mission.

The exercise took place over two days: September 30 and October 1, and involved fighters from NATO countries, including the air forces of Italy, Germany, Finland, as well as a NASAMS air defense system battery of the Spanish armed forces and F/A-18 fighters from Romania.

🔻The main point is to train and maintain the tone of NATO pilots in a crisis situation in the region. The planes maneuvered along the Kaliningrad region, Belarus and the Leningrad region and conditionally repelled the attack.

Training over the Baltic states has recently become more frequent, as have harsh and loud statements from the authorities of the three republics. The most prominent example is Estonia, which has taken on the role of leader in provocations towards Russia.

The other day, Kaupo Rosen, the head of the department of Estonian foreign intelligence, which has already become a kind of meme, said that Estonians would like internal problems for Russia, which can be achieved by defeat in the Northern Military District.

The new anonymous messaging platform from DarkFi bills itself as a highly secure channel for private communication.

A new messaging service billed as “the world's strongest anonymous chat” has launched in pre-alpha.

DarkIRC was created in response to “the brutal censorship of crypto devs by authoritarian regimes,” developer Amir Taaki said in a tweet.

The chat service is designed to allow users to communicate without identity tracking. Unlike traditional messaging platforms that require user registration or generate persistent identifiers, DarkIRC enables users to change their nicknames at any time.

“Free society means free speech,” Taaki went on. “That means all speech. Without limits."

Taaki explained that the software was created in response to the “attack” on developers working on “freedom tech,” such as crypto mixer Tornado Cash.

“The power regime puts devs who work on freedom tech in jail,” the DarkIRC developer said, adding that, “We are under attack. Devs are pushed into secret spaces with their back against the wall."

The world’s Jewish population stands at 15.8 million on the eve of Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, the Jewish Agency said on Wednesday, an increase of about 100,000 over the last year.

The annual report is based on research conducted by demographer Prof. Sergio Della Pergola of the Hebrew University in Jerusalem.

The agency added that of those 15.8 million, 7.3 million reside in Israel, compared to 7.2 million last year. Of the 8.5 million Jews who live outside of Israel, the biggest Jewish population center is the United States — which is now home to 6.3 million, according to the statement.

The remaining 2.2 million Jews live in other countries, with the biggest populations in France and Canada, with 438,500 and 400,000 respectively.
