Efrain Vidales Vargas, 49 was arrested in Boston after U.S. ICE released him due to a “national bed space shortage caused by Southwest border surge”

Vargas illegally entered the U.S. through the Yuma Sector in November 2023 and was caught by the U.S. Customs and Border Patrol. He was then handed over to ICE

ICE was informed about Vargas' criminal record, including a murder conviction in Colombia and a history of criminal behavior dating back to childhood

ICE released him just two days later and was given a notice to appear
