This magical image is the 250 sq km picturesque shimmering blue #LoktakLake located at the south of #Imphal. There are hundreds of clumps of matted floating vegetation called phumdis which are created as fishing ponds, and fisherfolk build huts on the floating โ€˜islandsโ€™.

Kumbhalgarh: View along bulbous bastions of the giant hill fort towards the towering Badal Mahal
The #StatueOfUnity is a colossal statue of Indian statesman and independence activist Vallabhbhai Patel (1875โ€“1950), who was the first Deputy Prime Minister and Home minister of independent India and adherent of Mahatma Gandhi during the non-violent Indian Independence movement. Patel was highly respected for his leadership in uniting 562 princely states of India with a major part of the former British Raj to form the single Union of India. The statue is located in the state of #Gujarat, India. It is the #WorldsTallestStatue with a height of 182 metres (597 feet). It is located on the #NarmadaRiver in the #KevadiyaColony, facing the #SardarSarovarDam 100 kilometres southeast of the city of Vadodara and 150 kilometres from Surat.
If you are looking for a quick yet adventurous weekend getaway from Mumbai, Sudhagad tops the list. A fairly easy trek that leads you to two beautiful lakes where you can enjoy a refreshing dip or even camp the night.

#Sudhagad / #Bhorapgad is a #HillFort situated in #Maharashtra, India. It lies about 53 kilometres west of Pune, 26 kilometres south of Lonavla and 11 kilometres east of Pali in Raigad District. The summit is 620 metres (2,030 ft) above sea level. Recently the entire area around the fort is declared as #SudhagadWildlifeSanctuary.
#DidYouKnow that inside the #ChidambaramNatarajarTemple, thereโ€™s a golden roof over the dancing hall of Nataraja that was made by King Anabhaya Chozha.
The thrilling #TornaFort was the first fort that was captured by #ChhatrapatiShivaji Maharaj. Located in #Pune district, in the Indian state of #Maharashtra, this fort is the highest hill-fort in the district and is also known for its picturesque and breathtaking surroundings.

The fort is open for visitors in all seasons but wait for the right time to travel and remember to check the guidelines by the government.

Built by Mohammed Adil Shah in about 1646 to serve as a hall of justice, the graceful Asar Mahal once housed two hairs from Prophet Mohammedโ€™s beard. The rooms on the upper storey are decorated with frescoes and a square tank graces the front. Itโ€™s out of bounds for women.
Considered to be one of Indiaโ€™s oldest functioning temple, Virupaksha temple is still pristine amidst the ancient ruins.

#Sagnam in #PinValley is a sight to behold during winters, as this structure stands out amidst the snow covered mountains, adding character to the scenic landscape.
Located at #TheRidge's east end is the striking #ChristChurch that has Victorian coloured glass windows. It opened in 1846 and is one of the oldest surviving churches in northern India and #Shimla's most famous landmark.
Can't decide what I love more: This building or its backyard garden? .
.
In Bombay, open spaces that don't literally break you into a sweat, are a real blessing! The David Sassoon Library garden is one such beautiful, welcoming space. Tall trees with huge canopies are a natural acoustic barrier, cuts all noise from the busy road. And the garden has SWINGS!! Aur kya chahiye?

GATEWAY TO THE #TAJ
Chand Baori: Moon Well ,some say that it is the most photographed Stepwell in India though not exactly on Golden Triangle route but for those who are interested can make that detour.
Many in today's time may wonder about the utility of constructing such Stepwells in those times. But in a land which has a precident of recieving limited rainfalls and having no major rivers , constructing Stepwells and artificial water reservoirs was the only way to conserve rain water. Though there is not much information is available about this structure but looking at the massiveness of this Stepwell it would not be wrong to say that it definitely was on an important trade route.

#KesariyaStupa was one of the earliest #BuddhistStupas. Although some historians believe that the stupa belongs to Ashoka's period, the stupa mound may even have been inaugurated during the Buddha's time, as it corresponds in many respects to the description of the stupa erected by the Licchavis of Vaishali to house the alms bowl the Buddha has given them
