Ahilya Bai commissioned two architects from Rajasthan to redesign and construct parts of the #MaheshwarFort.

The architect brothers Bhujdar and Gajdar turned the Maheshwar Fort into a #Rajasthani palace, complete with #arches, #balconies and #oriel windows.

#TheMaheshwarFort is approached from the #NarmadaRiver (boats are available) through a massive #arched gateway, approached by a long flight of stairs.  On the top of the gateway are sculptured figures of musicians.

The gateway leads to a open courtyard housing a couple of memorials or #cenotaph of the members of the Holkar family. They are locally known as chattris. At the centre of the courtyard or the cenotaph complex is a rather Islamic looking beautiful #doomed structure. This is the #chattri or #cenotaph of Vithoji Rao.

The majestic embellished chhatri has amazing #elephant #frieze on its #plinth. It is approached by a flight of stairs leading to a #hexagonal garbhagriha (inner #sanctum).
#MalagatiShivaTemple is attached to #BadamiFort. It was built by the Chalukyas in 6th century. The Chalukyas followed Shaivism but were liberal with Vaishnavism and Jainism.

The temple has a simple Chalukyan architecture with sculptures on all its side. The temple is located on top of a small hillock with a beautiful garden. It is one of the best places in #Badami to spend some spiritual time at sunset.

At about 2,400 metres (8,000 ft) above sea level, the valley is surrounded by snow-capped mountains. It has diverse fauna and wildlife including the Himalayan brown bear and the snow leopard. The Kishanganga River flows through the valley.The road to Gilgit runs through Gurez.

#Ramanarayanam is the temple Located on #Korukonda Road in #Vizianagaram, India. which is 45 km from Visakhapatnam.

The temple was constructed by NCS CHARITABLE TRUST over 15 acres area based on Ramayana and temple which is designed like a Bow and arrow shape. The temple has become a major tourism hub for the #Uttarandhra region. Bheemalingeshwara is an ancient cave temple of Lord Shiva nestled in a serene and secluded forest area in the Western Ghats. It is around 30 kms from GundiMane. As per mythology, the Shiva Linga was installed by Bheema during their Ajnyaatavasa (living in hiding). Right next to the temple, there’s a beautiful little waterfall called the Bheemeshwara falls. It is said that the waterfall formed when Arjuna used his arrow to extract water from the rocks. The speciality of this falls is that the water never dries out throughout the year though the volume reduces during Summer. There is also a distinct aroma arising out of the lush evergreen forest which is very unique to this place. It is so pleasant that it will make you forget all your tiredness. Local people offer a huge puja to the Lord on MahaShivarathri every year (which normally falls in the month of Feb-March).
