Today is the death anniversary of Ven. Adele Bonolis. She was an Italian layperson. She became a teacher of Religion in high school. She had special attention to women victims of prostitution and women wounded by life who are discarded and isolated. Her ministry also extended to other categories of women "at risk“ like former prisoners and mentally ill women. She continued her ministry even if she had intestinal tumor.

New research from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam shows that how milk is stored and fed matters as much as what’s inside it.
• Breast milk itself is safe — but when it’s pumped and stored in plastic bottles, microplastics leach into it.
• Infant formula, often mixed and fed in plastic bottles, showed the highest concentrations of microplastics.
• Glass bottles carried far less risk, highlighting that it’s the plastic contact that contaminates the milk.

Babies are being exposed to plastic particles from the very first meals of their lives — not because of what they drink, but because of what it’s stored in.

The takeaway: if you want to minimize exposure, choose glass over plastic.

Today is the death anniversary of the Servant of God Catharina Iwanaga Mori. She was a Japanese 5-year-old child who is being considered for beatification as a martyr. She was imprisoned during the time of Christian persecution in Japan. One day, a soldier offered to give her sweet cookies if she said she hated Christ. Though she was hungry, she replied, "Oh, no. Then I cannot go to heaven. There are much sweeter cookies in heaven."
