I am half the man my father was. Try as I may to emulate him and epitomize his ethics and masculinity - I fall short. I'm sure many of you feel the same.
That isn't to say that we are failures. I often get compliments on the quality of my work ethic, character, etc - but this is from the perspective of folks who deal with your average numan on a daily basis.
No matter what we do, you'll often find the modern world and its poisons steeped into your life in some facet or another. Now, instead of making excuses and becoming complacent, we should take this as a challenge. Another mountain to climb.
Spit in the face of all those who would cast emasculation and passivity upon us all and defy the new age ideal of comfort at all costs. Strive to be the man your father was.
